The afternoon of June 17, 2019 is the time of the year that highlighted a life changing event for the senior high school and adult education students of George Knott School. This day is a benchmark of achievement as they reaped the fruits of their labor from their long years of dedication to their academic studies. This day is a reminder to all that hard work pays off and that success is always attainable for those who put their best effort in any endeavor they pursue. This year’s graduating class is a living testament to this truth.
The candidates enjoyed light moments among friends, colleagues and family members at the Nursery Room as they prepared and dress up for their most coveted event.
This event was filled with joy and wild excitement as the candidates assembled together with their families, friends and loved ones to share this once-in-a-lifetime milestone of their achievement.
The commencement ceremony this year started with a memorable last walk of the candidates along the school hallways led by the school principal, Leslie Harper and vice principal, Marilyn D. Harper. Students from early years watched and cheered as they parade along these familiar places and finally going to the school gym where they will be honored and recognized for their academic achievements as members of the graduating class for the school year 2018-2019.
The candidates were called one by one accompanied by one of their loved ones as they go to their respective places designated for members of the graduating class.
The graduating students sat at the center of the gymnasium while their respective families, friends and loved ones witnessed the event as they received their diplomas, certificates and awards as a reward for hurdling the most demanding years they have spent in their studies.
The occasion was graced by our beloved Education Authority Director, Adam Knott, the administrative staff of George Knott School headed by Leslie Harper (Principal), Marilyn D. Harper (Vice Principal), Albert Harper and Donna Harper (Guidance Counsellors), administrative staff of WEA and GKS along with the honorable Chief and Council, Gary Knott together with the councillors and other distinguished guests from the community.
Photos below were taken from the prestigious Graduation ceremony as the candidates marched, walked and smiled as they received their diplomas, certificates and awards and be recognized as GKS High School graduates for the school year 2018 - 2019.
We are beaming with pride and honor as we extend our heartfelt congratulations to the graduates. May God bless and guide all of you as you continue your journey and go to the next level of your endeavors.
