In the recently concluded Canada-Wide Science Fair held in Ottawa last May 12-19, 2018, our very own Jasmine Wood (Grade 12) garnered the bronze medal award among the top student participants of this prestigious national event. Her project “Nonverbal Communications” received curious attention and a lasting good impression from doctors, scientists, engineers and other visitors attending the event.
Jubilation erupted at George Knott School upon hearing the good news and prepared a warm welcome for Jasmine for such an outstanding achievement. It is indeed a pride and honor for our school and the community of Wasagamack to have one of its senior students bringing home such a distinguished award.
The photos below featured the highlights of the event.
Our heartfelt appreciation and thanks to the MFNERC science team spearheaded by Rosely Booth which has been working with our First Nations delegation to the Canada-Wide Science Fair in Ottawa. Science facilitators worked along with both school teachers and students to prepare and enhance the readiness of First Nation participants in this prestigious national event.
