June 17, 2022 marked an enormous celebration of our high school students as they embarked to the new path of adulthood. Many fond memories of their high school days spent from the old George Knott School up to the new Wasagamack First Nation School will be cherished by our graduates forever.
This school year bears witness to the struggles and challenges the new school has undergone as it navigates through the new normal in the midst of the current global pandemic. By the grace of God, the new school was able to go through all these ordeals and by the end of the school year, has produced a whole heap of new graduates from both high school and mature students program. This milestone is well deserved and unprecedented in the history of George Knott School.
This batch of graduates are close to our hearts as we have seen how they grow to become the better person they are now. So much hard work and determination have brought these graduates to this point in their life as they encounter the challenges of worldwide pandemic.
Presenting the Graduating Class of School Year 2021-2022.
Photos below were taken from the prestigious Graduation ceremony starting with the stage preparation and decoration by the admin staff.
The commencement ceremony this year started with a memorable last stroll of the candidates along the school hallways led by the school principal, Randy Harper and vice principal, Marilyn D. Harper. Students and teachers watched and cheered as they parade along these familiar places and finally going to the school gym where they will be honored and recognized for their academic achievements as members of the graduating class for the school year 2021-2022.
The candidates were then met and accompanied by one of their loved ones as they go to their respective places designated for members of the graduating class.
The graduating students sat at the center of the gymnasium while their respective families, friends and loved ones witnessed the event as they received their diplomas, certificates and awards as a reward for hurdling the most demanding years they have spent in their studies.
The occasion was graced by our beloved Education Authority Director, Adam Knott, the administrative staff of WFNS headed by Randy Harper (Principal), Marilyn D. Harper (Vice Principal), Albert Harper (Guidance Counsellor) along with the honorable Chief, Walter Harper, councilors Dustin Knott, Madeline Knott, Phyllis Harper, Violet Harper and other distinguished guests from the community.

What was just once a dream… is now a dream come true. These students have invested their time, effort, heart, talent and had some fun along the way. The road to success they passed through was not an easy one, sharp turns and steep hills were encountered but they held on to the wheel and kept going, and we are proud of you.
Today is a day for celebration, a day to celebrate the lessons you learned and the friendships you made along the way, a day to acknowledge the past and embrace the future, a day for family and friends, a day to tell you that our hearts are filled with pride and love for you.
To the graduates, as you leave the premises of Wasagamack First Nation School, we wish you all the best and believe in yourself that you can achieve your goals. As you continue through life, never forget to keep learning and always remember you only live once, so do your best in everything. The world is waiting for you, so get out there and make a difference.
